Who still has Halloween candy lying around????

It’s time to get it out and behind you!

Lean into some of the thinking of the Feast Like a Bear holiday e-book as we brace for what we can call “peak pie” in America. Find it here: https://eatlikeabear.com/crush-2025/

As for me, I am at zero on the Halloween candy count and am now sailing into the last half of our 100 days, down 15 pounds. I expect to hit a new low weight by our Saturday weigh-in in the Deep Den.

Zero is seriously a simple and powerful place to be. I highly recommend it.

But if you’ve still got the candy lying around, here’s a strategy I use when I am in a candy entanglement:

The Chocolate Candy Step-Down

Eating candy makes you want to eat more candy.

The amount of sugar in candy will drive your brain to crave more of it. It is very difficult to stop eating candy until it has basically made you sick.

How can we stop eating those little chocolate bars in every Halloween bag before the ridiculous point of getting sick?

Here’s a strategy:

When your mouth is filled with the flavor of the mini Snickers bar, grab a piece of dark chocolate.

Eat the dark chocolate.

With dark chocolate, you will more quickly find yourself full sooner. You will be be able to stop eating it faster. Yes, in the process you will still eat more chocolate than you should, but you can stop the spiral a little more easily.

Yes, even the dark chocolate can stall you, but you’re just less likely to eat a mountain of it, and that’s a “win” in some of these circumstances.

THEN: Throw that stuff out while you’re full. There is nothing about eating mini Snickers bars that will get you to the life you deserve.

Bears on the Buffalo National River

Finally on Amazon!!!

Goodness. This took a day or two.

For YEARS the Eat Like a Bear books have only been available from our website because Amazon wouldn’t approve our shop. The Amazon robots couldn’t verify our extreme rural location.

We’ve been verified.

Yes, we’re right here waving from the forest.

We lived some interesting stories in the process, especially this one about nearly breaking the U.S. Postal Service when we shipped 10,000 books out of a post office with 217 residents in its zip code. Read the quaint post office story here: https://eatlikeabear.com/usps-postmasters/

Heck, there’s even a sale! Here’s the Ridiculously Big Salad book: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1934712205

And the Ridiculously Big Skillet book: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1934712221

Do me a favor, and leave a review on Amazon if you have the books. Email back that you did, and I will send you a “Dream Big” car sticker.

(I wonder if people outside of the U.S. can now get these. I should know that but don’t…)
