It’s Day 50 of the last 100 Days of 2025!!!

Whoa. Halfway through.

I want you to join us if you haven’t.

We’re looking to lose a few extra pounds here at the end of 2025. Why not?

But I don’t want to bug you either…. if I am bugging you, unsubscribe here:

Boy, it’s a rough season for weight loss!

A bunch of us are reeling from the Halloween season, and we are increasingly facing the pumpkin-themed confections.

What if, on top of all of these assaults, we get sick?

Woe is me… I write from my sick bed to you today….

A patch of sickness can definitely be one of those moments it all falls apart.

We must be ready.

Always Be Ready

We must be ready, and we need to plan in advance for these bumps in the road.

Make Meals That Are Strategically Easy

Here in the Eat Like a Bear community, we’ve had a lot of success in weight loss and maintenance because of the simple fact that our meals are easy. Even on some of my sicker days I am able to whip up a Ridiculously Big Skillet or Salad. There are many examples on YouTube where I whip them up in five minutes. On a sick day, when I’m moving slowly, I can whip them up in ten minutes.

Keep A Freezer Stash

Some of these meals are easily frozen, especially the Ridiculously Big Skillet meals. I have two soups right now in my freezer that I can easily defrost and reheat this week should I need them.

I haven’t eaten them so far because it is extremely easy to make a skillet dish from scratch.

Keep Your Pantry a Safe Space

In advance, just keep as much bad stuff out of your pantry as possible, just so it’s not there when you are down on the couch.

Do All of This with Intention

When we’re sick and possibly lying around and feeling sorry for ourselves (as I have been this week), it’s just very easy to give it all up.

We all know where that path leads.

Plan today to make a different decision when that sick day hits next time. Organize your kitchen and household with that goal in mind. Make a plan to take care of yourself through that bad patch.

That’s the path.

Practice the Meal Prep

A key thing you can do today is practice your meal prep. Adopt some of these Ridiculously Big meals and get so good at prepping them that you beat my five minutes. 🙂

Get a book if you don’t have one. Amazon finally let us sell them there and currently has them on sale, so there is no real downside. (It sounds like you can even buy these books in Canada, and maybe even across the planet…who knows…)

(Do me a favor, and leave a review on Amazon if you have the books. Email us, letting us know that you did, and I will send you a “Dream Big” window cling.)
