Gratefulness on this beautiful day

I'm grateful for YOU!

Happy Thanksgiving here in America from me and my crew. We’re thinking about YOU!

The photo above is our literal view this very Thanksgiving morning, right at sunrise.

For our part, we ran away from home earlier this week and we are just hanging out on this holiday, poolside, no turkey in sight, just a bit of shuffleboard and hot tubbing. The weather is exquisite in California.

Gratefulness

It’s a good day to reflect on what we have with a grateful spirit. When times are tough and days are bad, being grateful can require a certain discipline.

It’s just really easy instead to notice all of the things we may be lacking.

We face this struggle in health recoveries and in loss of friends and family. It’s just very easy to focus on what’s missing rather than the richness that is out in front of us.

I’ve been thinking about this in particular because we lost a community member this week, Jeannie Hummel. Jeannie is someone I would have never known had it not been for the big Facebook community we had during Covid. I am grateful for that time and the many people it brought together and the lessons that we learned.

A Simple Activity

If you’re struggling today, or even as you have a difficult moment of being stressed or exhausted, I encourage you to take a few minutes to go outside, find a garden or a river or some leaves rustling in the breeze.

Take in the nature and let it give your mind rest. Take those few minutes to empty your mind of all that fills it.

With a clearer mind, thank the rose or the river or the leaves and let that be your gratefulness exercise.

Jeannie Hummel had a similar practice. After she lost her husband a few years ago, she would sit in a rose garden to converse with him and find clarity.

Gratefulness Discussions Past

If you're just hanging today... I found a great discussion on gratefulness from holidays past. My dad even showed up!

I wish you the very best in this holiday season.

Go be awesome!!!

P.S., Life Simplified: Our sponsor this week has a quality all-in-one supplement that’s for those of us looking for a one-stop shop in daily support (tired of filling up a pill box with supplements and all that). It’s got some holiday deals for us.
