Tasty Tuesday (Too BIG?)

it sure may be...

In partnership with

We had a really great discussion in last week’s LIVE video. Some of us are seriously TIGHTENING UP.

You already know what I mean.

Sometimes you just need to put a bit more of a boundary around things. We all have different reasons, or really different variations on the theme of “improve our health.”

Tightening the food

Most of us are going to need to tighten up on the food. If you have my books, you already know how I do this. I have “rules” that I follow for adding things to my salad and I am extra-diligent about them. (One key rule is that I only add one extra-caloric topping to my salad. I don’t double-up with nuts AND avocado for instance, as much as I would always love to.)

A theme from last week’s discussion is reeling in our eating times. If you eat throughout eight hours in a day, you might want to reel it into five. You will likely eat less just from this change.

To tighten, I often lean into salads with a vinegar-based dressing rather than dairy. I just find I can trim it up a bit and be satisfied. Here’s a Ridiculously Big Taco Salad as an example of that sort of dressing: https://youtu.be/A8TsK5NBumg

Basically, yes, your Ridiculously Big meal might be TOO BIG, but also, it pretty much never a problem with too much lettuce, cauliflower, or broccoli. It’s all the other stuff we like to add.

Fight through the barriers

Anytime we do anything important in our lives, there will be barriers that pop up and it is easy to become demoralized by them. Pushing through is the way you’re going to get there, so be ready to respond to barriers by looking for solutions.

You will find them.

Paths can be messy and complex. Keep pushing through.

Keeping up

Most days I spend just a few minutes on news and give it all a quick glance. The nation’s fasted growing news-by-email will give you news and cultural highlights. Should I need more, that’s always there too. Click through and check them out. (They are a sponsor of this newsletter, so click through and think “thank you.”)

Culture Clarity Without the Clickbait

Lifelong learners deserve more than clickbait lists. 1440’s Society & Culture brief takes you beneath the buzzwords to reveal the forces shaping our shared experience—technological shifts, artistic movements, demographic trends. In about five minutes, gain a clear, evidence-based perspective that sparks conversation and fuels deeper exploration. No lofty jargon, no spin—just intellectually honest storytelling that turns curiosity into genuine understanding.

That’s it! See you soon.

P.S. Get strategic about your meals if you haven’t. The popular meal framework here at Eat Like a Bear will help with that. Grab the three-pack collection from the Bear Shop for more: https://thebearshop.life/products/three-pack-print-book-collection
