the hunger battle
worth the fight
We had a great discussion about HUNGER in yesterday’s live video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Bmv-agXeds
We’ll follow-up on it this coming Wednesday in our weekly live video (9 am Pacific). I hope you can join us!
Key strategies:
Time. It takes TIME to retrain your body and its hunger cues. It gets EASIER. It really does. It’s worth it.
Distraction. As I say, “Eat and go be awesome!” 🙂 Have something planned for after your meal: A work shift, a walk, a craft project. Do something that does not involve food.
Many other ideas came up: Leveraging seltzers and other beverages in particular.
Yes, it can be HARD but we can do it
Oh yes, it can sure be HARD. We can sure hit some rough patches along the way.
For my part right now, I am spending more time than any of us should in physical therapy recovering from the incident in July (when I was injured in a game show of all crazy things) and it sure can be hard to keep the right attitude when I ache all over.
Hunger can definitely get worse and comfort food keeps looking better and better.
Do you know what has helped me?
I opened up our photo gallery at the Den and saw all of the amazing photos that I have missed this week in my aches and pains.
Have you seen it?
It is right here and waiting for your photo: https://www.eatlikeabearden.com/c/our-century-life-image-gallery/
We call it a “Century Life” gallery representing the images we have of our most vibrant future.
What we need to do as a community is add amazing images to our gallery so that we can all stay focused and inspired. Go look at them and you’ll see what I mean.
I’ll contribute a photo right here in this email. This is me a year ago and I KNOW if I can stay focused, that I will have this same energy and spunk in a year from now (despite feeling quite laid up from injuries).
There is also a huge amount of inspiration in the Eat Like a Bear books. Grab the 3-pack if you’ve missed it: https://thebearshop.life/products/three-pack-print-book-collection
For as tough as things feel for me right now, I continue to be grateful for my physical abilities with the weight loss.
It is worth pushing through.
May all of our days and our struggles with food get easier. I appreciate you.

P.S. Grab the three-pack collection from the Bear Shop for some extra support: https://thebearshop.life/
