the missing ingredient
this is it...
Maybe all we ever needed was a little bit of HOPE.
Seven years ago this month, I posted a video on Facebook called “A Postcard from Yellowstone.“
The video was a big call to action in weight loss with a mention of the key intermittent fasting tool we use here in the community.
But more than that, the video offered a message of hope to people who have felt stuck in their weight.
The video itself drove massive, success, evidence that hope is a key missing ingredient.
My wish is that people still find hope in the message seven years later.
Here’s the video and backstory: https://eatlikeabear.com/postcard-from-yellowstone/
All these years later, we’ve had a lot of people lose weight: lose and maintain, lose and regain, and everything in between.
Weight loss is complicated and it is most definitely very easy to get discouraged and to lose hope.
If you are feeling stuck and discouraged today, I just wanted to give you some encouragement in this message.
One of the reasons for the success of the Yellowstone message is that it drummed excitement in a lot of people and that excitement was its own fuel for weight loss. If you find yourself a little stuck these days, it is important to find that spark again. You may need to create the spark yourself - reignite the spark in your life in some way:
Get a friend to do it with you. There is nothing like that shared support to keep you focused and empowered.
Keep front and center a vision of yourself in your new life. Picture what you will be doing one year from now and use that as your positive focus to stay on track.
Flip the switch on self-doubt and discouragement. If you feel that gnaw of hunger, for instance, step outside, engage in nature in a small way. Clear your mind. If it is hunger you are struggling with, reflect in gratefulness that those pangs of hunger are also a sign of progress. Turn your mind to your future self and the amazing vital life you are building.
Life is complex, but there is a lot to be grateful for, and our efforts are most definitely worth it.
Take care. See you soon!

How 433 Investors Unlocked 400X Return Potential
Institutional investors back startups to unlock outsized returns. Regular investors have to wait. But not anymore. Thanks to regulatory updates, some companies are doing things differently.
Take Revolut. In 2016, 433 regular people invested an average of $2,730. Today? They got a 400X buyout offer from the company, as Revolut’s valuation increased 89,900% in the same timeframe.
Founded by a former Zillow exec, Pacaso’s co-ownership tech reshapes the $1.3T vacation home market. They’ve earned $110M+ in gross profit to date, including 41% YoY growth in 2024 alone. They even reserved the Nasdaq ticker PCSO.
The same institutional investors behind Uber, Venmo, and eBay backed Pacaso. And you can join them. But not for long. Pacaso’s investment opportunity ends September 18.
Paid advertisement for Pacaso’s Regulation A offering. Read the offering circular at invest.pacaso.com. Reserving a ticker symbol is not a guarantee that the company will go public. Listing on the NASDAQ is subject to approvals.
